Carme complex is situated really close to the traditional and historic village Adele, only nine kilometers in the east of Rethymno, among the Cretan olive groves and fruit-bearing trees.

Adele is the seat if of the Municipality of Arkadi, a not only seaside but also hilly region the southern part of which lies at the foot of Psiloritis. According to the results of the census held in 2001, 5.644 residents belong to this municipality while it extends to an area of 123,027 square kilometers.

Remarkable places at the village Adele or in the wider area that worth a visit:

  • First of all Rethymno, also known as the Town of Literature and Arts. It's the capital of the prefecture and it is also famous for having one of the most beautiful (Venetian) harbors on the north coast of Crete. A uniquely picturesque town characterized by both traditional and modern features. Every visitor is charmed by the wonderfully interesting and picturesque lanes of the old Town and the countless natural and historic monuments.
  • The historic monastery of Arkadi (in Greek: Moni Arkadiou) the central temples of which are consecrated to Saint Constantine (Agios Konstantinos) and Saint Helen. It is quite notable that Arkadi has been declared by UNESCO as European Monument of Liberty.
  • The church of Saint Panteleimonas in Adele where a fair takes place every year on 27th July.
  • The house of Konstantinos Giaboudakis, the Cretan hero who was exploded in Arkadi during the revolution in 1866 is located in Adeleε
  • Moni Stavropigiaki, monastery of Saint Arsenios (Agios Arsenios) which dates back to the 16th century. The monastery is near the village Pagalochori, about five kilometers in the east of Adele.
  • The traditional village Maroulas with Venetian Towers and the Venetian mansions and arches. It is the ideal destination of enjoyable hiking through the olive groves. Maroulas is only 2 km far from Adele.
